Features
Private Cloud Architecture

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Wi-Fi solution uses an innovative controller-free architecture with AP clustering technology. Built on a reliable Docker-based private cloud, it integrates with standard IT equipment like switches. APs automatically register on the ESP platform via DHCP and secure channels, ready for configuration in the customer’s management system.

The architecture ensures high reliability and ease of use, providing a seamless management experience without distinction between cloud and on-premises management. This design enables efficient deployment and broad adaptability for wireless networks.

Cluster Deployment

Built on the Kubernetes framework, the ESP platform ensures reliable container management and orchestration, increasing platform capacity. Cluster deployment requires additional servers to support larger networks and improve reliability.

PaaS Features

HAN Networks’ wireless APs support four modes: Cluster, ESG, CSP, and ESP. In ESP mode, customers must purchase the ESP management software (compatible with x86 hardware) and a one-time, perpetual “AP Management License” or other feature-specific licenses. This cost-effective software solution delivers the benefits of

the PaaS model.

The ESP Private Cloud Platform supports flexible deployment, including direct installation on x86 bare metal or virtual machines, depending on network size and security needs.

Tiered Architecture

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform supports a three-tier network architecture—Corporation, Site, and Group—to streamline the management of large-scale APs and switches. This structure allows customers to define and align devices to their organization for clear and efficient management.

Hierarchical Account System

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform features a hierarchical account system with roles such as Owner, Manager, Viewer, and Guest Operator. Integrated with the network structure, it enables flexible account management tailored to operational needs.

Intuitive Data Dashboard

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform features an intuitive data dashboard, offering real-time insights into network performance, device workloads, user behavior, and security status. Time-based data visualization supports efficient analysis and decision-making.

Advanced Topology Management

The new ESP offers advanced topology management. Customers can use LLDP to auto-generate network maps or manually create custom diagrams. These maps visually represent the network structure and indicate device health status.

ESP supports network and location topologies, with location maps overlaying building floor plans for enhanced visualization and easier management.

Heatmap

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform includes a heatmap module that visualizes wireless signal strength and coverage. It uses precise simulations for signal coverage, frequency planning, channel allocation, and dynamic adjustments, supported by a detailed obstacle and loss database.

This feature enables real-time monitoring of signal strength and interference, identifying hotspots and weak areas for targeted optimization.

Real-Time Monitoring

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform offers centralized management with real-time monitoring of AP devices and users. It tracks AP hardware/software status, CPU/RAM usage, firmware updates, client connections, mobility, and handover times via an integrated status page.

The platform includes intelligent AP firmware management to prevent outdated versions and ensure compatibility, maintaining network stability. Its intuitive interface provides seamless, efficient control from any location.

Unified Network Management

ESP extends management capabilities to wired devices, providing end-to-end IT network coverage. Its intuitive GUI simplifies switch management, ensuring effortless control of the entire network.

ESG Management

The ESG (Edge Service Gateway) is an advanced edge computing unit from HAN Networks, capable of managing APs and switches within a defined scope. Its standout feature is centralized management and forwarding of AP user traffic.

ESG integrates with the ESP platform for version control, reliability, and configuration management, enabling a seamless AP-ESG-ESP network architecture.

Flexible Authentication

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform integrates the HAM (HAN Authentication Module) to provide robust wireless authentication with customizable options. It supports Radius protocols, connects to various authentication databases, and offers flexible portal authentication.

Customers can use the built-in portal or combine it with Radius for enhanced security. ESP also supports external CMCC Portal 2.0 for diverse authentication needs.

Built-in Advertising Platform

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform includes a built-in portal with an advertising platform for customized campaigns. It supports static and dynamic ad delivery using image or URL formats and offers predefined templates for quick deployment.

The platform also provides detailed analytics to track ad performance, enabling customers to optimize exposure and maximize impact.

RF Optimization and Security

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform offers Dynamic RF Management (DRM) for automated, low-maintenance deployments. Advanced RF tools provide centralized monitoring, while AP RF scanning optimizes performance and detects interference.

It also includes wireless IDS/IPS capabilities, classifying APs and clients by security level and addressing threats to ensure strong network security.

Log and Notification Management

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform features a cloud-based log and notification system with customizable depth and scope. Advanced filters ensure clear visibility into network status and easy access to historical records.

The platform also supports custom email notifications and email-based registration by allowing configuration of multiple email server addresses.

Alert Configuration

The ESP platform offers customizable alerts, allowing users to define scopes, thresholds, activation conditions, and time frames. It also supports strategic handling of alerts for efficient and flexible network management.

Customizable Reporting

The HAN ESP platform offers customizable reports via email or online, allowing customers to monitor network status. Reports include daily, weekly, and monthly statistics, helping customers verify network scale and software versions for better management and issue resolution.

Remote Support

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform provides remote management features, allowing customers to quickly obtain technical support during issues and perform management tasks remotely (with customer authorization) during normal operations. These capabilities improve management efficiency, ensuring network stability and timely responses.

System Monitoring

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform provides monitoring and management with automatic checks of key parameters and detailed logs for critical services. In case of issues, customers can use the one-click log collection feature to trace the system’s status, ensuring reliability and transparency.

Wireless Client Management

The HAN ESP Private Cloud Platform provides a set of tools to monitor and manage wireless client connectivity and status, improving the user experience. These include:

  • Client Access Band Management: For dual-band devices, the platform prioritizes connection to the 5GHz band, optimizing bandwidth and enhancing user experience.
  • Client Load Balancing: The platform distributes clients across APs to balance the load, improving overall network performance.
